How to turn on Engine Idling Notifications

Like any notifications, enging idling notifications require a workflow to be created to setup these notifications in Halo.

The below guide will help you setup a workflow for Engine Idling notifications.

This is what the workflow will look like:

To set this up, simply navigate to Workflows and create a New Workflow called Engine Idling.

You will see a blank white space with coloured nodes down the right-hand side.

Drag the Yellow Listener node into the workspace.

Click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of this node.

Click Select Event Filter to add and select Event Code.

Search for Idling Started.

Click Select Event Filter to add again and On Selected Days filter and/or Between the Hours of filter if required.

Click Save.

Next, drag the Black Delay node for Duration underneath the yellow node.

Drag the line from the green dot below the yellow listen node, to the dot on top of the black duration node to join them.

Click the pencil icon on the Black Duration node to edit the duration delay.

Under Field, select Segment Total Idling Time >= 3.

(3 minutes is recommended for idling as anything less than 3 minutes may be simply stopped at a red light).

Input 3 Minutes as the Event Duration as below.

Click Save.

Next, drag the Blue Notify node/s based on which notification/s you want to receive for idling.

You can choose between Email, SMS or Push Notification, or a combination of 2 or 3 of these.

Drag the line from the green dot under the black delay node to the dot on top of the blue notify nodes to connect them.

Click the pencil in the top-right of each of the blue notification nodes to edit who receives the notification.

The notification will be shared if any vehicle is detected idling for more than 3 minutes at a time, on the selected days and within the selected time.

Lastly, turn on the Status in the top-left of this workflow so it changes to Green. This turns the Workflow on.
